I was wondering at this point 2 years later, what the absolute maximum supported cpu for the t5400 is. Or more specifically what the bios will recognize, as well I can deal with thermal issues better then i can deal with not supported at all.

If they look good, try testing with devices such as the hdd and optical drive removed, if they system is able to complete POST without these components the power failure is likely the cable / its connection or the component itself. If there is no change a power supply swap would be recommended.

I posted this a week ago and still haven't gotten a response. Is there any reason to this?

The LED on the motherboard is the 'Stand By Power Light' [aka 'flea power'], indicates the motherboard has +5VFP power is reaching it and not an indication that the power supply has not failed, or has no issues.

I've read through the manual prior to my posting. All of the cpu fans...or water coolers I've looked at require a support bracket on the back of the mobo. The manual shows just the replacement steps. Is the back of the mobo accessible to put a support bracket for a new cpu cooling unit?

My Inspiron One does not display anymore. This happened after I installed new McAfee anti-virus and rebooted. It rebooted as normal and I left the computer on. When I returned back (about 30 minutes), I noticed that the display was black.

Thanks guys, still nothing works. I'll take it up with Dell as a warranty issue.

The 660 in these are 1.5gb but most were 2gb if buying it from vendors.

Since you bought it at "big box", you'll have to register the system in your name before you can get warranty support. And it may take a few days (or more) for the registration info to be updated.

Yeah, I just found that out the hard way via Dell support. Now I have to track down someone at "big box" to tell me the name of who it was registered with prior to me buying it. Like that's gonna happen... I can't complain too much... I got the system for less than half price.
